Soccer players, Sabrina Molnar and Shunya Kobayashi have been named the Holland Hurricanes Athletes of the Week for the week ending September 30.
Molnar, a third-year winger for the Hurricanes, helped the ‘Canes earn a win over the weekend in Halifax versus the UKC Blue Devils on Sunday.
Two assists on Sunday in the ‘Canes 4-0 win over the UKC Blue Devils and a goal on Saturday in a 5-1 loss to the MSVU Mystics positions the ‘Canes at 5-3-0 on the season and in third place in the ACAA regular season standings.
Sabrina Molnar is studying in the Travel and Tourism Management program and is from Ottawa, Ontario.
Kobayashi, a first-year winger for the ‘Canes, led the Hurricanes to a 4-2 win on Saturday versus the MSVU Mystics in Halifax.
Two goals in a win versus the Mystics before a 1-0 loss to the Blue Devils moves the Hurricanes to 5-2-1 and in a tie for first place in the regular season standings for the ACAA.
Shunya Kobayashi, 5’9”, is from Yachiyo, Japan and studying in the Sport & Leisure Management program.
Both the men’s and women’s soccer Hurricanes return to action this Wednesday night at 6 and 8pm (w/m) versus the Crandall Chargers at the Terry Fox Sports Complex in Cornwall.
